The story of the Gianvito Rossi brand begins in San Mauro Pascoli, a small town which takes its name from the poet Giovanni Pascoli, who was born here in 1855, located in the heart of Romagna, the charming Italian region known for its beauty and for the joyfulness of its people.

From his father, a shoemaker himself, who started off during the Second World War creating sandals during the winter that he would later sell on the beaches of Rimini, Gianvito learned not only the tools of the trade, but also the traditions of a true craftsman. A self-disciplined man, with a unique strength and determination, and a total dedication to what he did. He had an infinite attention to the product, and was constantly looking for the best possible result.

The constant search for perfection has been one of the most important teachings for Gianvito Rossi. “Always find a way to do things better”, this phrase would become, throughout the years, a true mantra for the young designer.

The factory that his father opened back in 1951 would become, in the first years of the new millennium, the base for the Gianvito Rossi namesake brand. In 2006, after exactly twenty-five years by his father side, mastering the Italian craft of luxury shoes, Gianvito decided to create his own label.

Adhering to the family tradition of impeccable quality and handicraft, Gianvito Rossi poured his own knowledge, the painstaking techniques and his obsession with materials into his designs, imagined to enhance the female silhouette in all its beauty.

Each creation is the epitome of a distinct family heritage, a true Italian legacy, passed on from one generation to the next with the greatest passion. A passion for the land in which all of these luxurious shoes are conceived, a passion for the product, a passion for the utmost quality.

Today, the family business includes Gianvito Rossi’s wife, Monica, and his children, Sofia and Nicola, who play key roles within the company. Through the years, the Gianvito Rossi brand has achieved outstanding international success in the luxury world, and has established itself as the epitome of sophistication within the market.
